NAthan with the Olympic Torch

The occasion when Nathan carried the Olympic Torch through Southend on July 6 2012 proved to be the greatest day of Nathan’s life so far. He had anticipated this event since Christmas when he had found that he would be an Olympic Torch bearer but had to contain his excitement until April as it had to be kept secret. He was selected after Mr Wright nominated him in recognition of his footballing achievements for U15 disability football teams representing both England and Tottenham.

‘Running with the Olympic Torch was more fantastic than I hoped for. It was so thrilling to hear thousands of people shout my name.’
