Sixth Form Curriculum Enrichment
The Curriculum Enrichment programme is one of the defining features of the Sixth Form experience at Sweyne Park. It provides students with an opportunity within school time for both work experience and personal development, and enables them to develop strong extra-curricular portfolios with which to attract the attention of University Admissions Tutors and Employers. It also allows students to make a contribution to the school or the community it serves. More importantly, it raises aspirations outside the classroom as well as within it.
At the beginning of each term, each student chooses an elective in which to participate. The majority of students choose to complete a work experience placement. Others participate in an on-site elective run by our specialist staff.
The electives currently on offer in 2018-19 are as follows:
|Duke of Edinburgh Award (Silver & Gold)||Work experience placement|
|Gold Arts Award||Primary school placement|
|Student Investor Challenge||Care home volunteering|
|Scuba diving / PADI qualification||Charity volunteering|
|Fundraising Committee (Year 12 only)|
|Classroom assistant placements|
|GCSE English / Maths re-sit classes|
